Dorset Museum’s galleries are in a unique position to tell the story of the county’s relationship between geology and its people, spanning hundreds of thousands of years. It is from this vantage point that the museum was able to engage with young people in its community about the climate emergency.
In this exhibition, we present three projects where young people found different ways to express their concerns about the climate emergency.
Males great bustards perform spectacular courtship displays, gathering at a ‘lek’ or small display ground to try to impress the females.
The great bustard has a dignified slow walk but tends to run when disturbed, rather than fly.
The hen-bird on display at The Salisbury Museum was one of the last great bustards to be eaten in the town!
